: I have a new maytag washing machine and am getting a bad odor when i open it up. I seem to remember some one telling me to run a solution of vinegar through it. Will this do any harm and will it get rid of the odor.

Hello Linda
Their is a problem with the front load machine & that is you will have to call the Maytag Service Centre. The problem is that the door inside door liner is allowing the water to stay in atop of the rubber boot which is why you have a strong odour of sagnet laundry water. Maytag has corrected this problem with a new style of inner door liner. So give them a call & have them come in & replace it. As for the vinager flush, It will temporily help.

Take care: Eric Clark
