: : : i have a 5 year old admiral electric dryer that for some reason in the last 2 weeks will heat up and run and then shut off after approx 30 minutes.
: : : i checked the venting and that is not the problem
: : : i also cleaned all the lint off the motor and it still does it.it will start up after it cools off and then shut off again.the blower is a little loose but im getting a good exhaust flow.i tried everything suggested but it still does it.any help or ideas on what the problem is? thanks
: : Sounds like a bad motor overheating internally. Ouch. Not cheap. Good Luck. Dave.
:
: thanks for your help dave.upon further inspection i am getting a loud sqealing sound sound whenever the shaft of the motor is turned,i soaked it with wd40, hovever that did not help...does this pretty much mean the motor is shot?.. thanks again.

Yep. Still sounds like the motor heats up and binds after a few minutes. New Motor! Dave.
