: I have a Kenmore dryer that ran all night without shutting off and now does not heat at all. The vent is clear and I have the back panels off. I would like to fix it myself; however, I don't know where to start. I think a heating element or the thermostat could be out, but I do not know how to tell. HELP!!

Chad,
Sounds like your timer went defective then your
thermostat burned open. You need to check
that and your wiring for breaks and scoring.
Remove the back service panel and the thermostat
attched close to or on the element cover. It should click went shaken, if it doesn't it needs
replacement.
Also check your element for
continuity and replace it if necessary.
Don't forget to check your 220 breaker and make
sure its not tripped.
Good luck!
