: : I have a Kenmore dryer that ran all night without shutting off and now does not heat at all. The vent is clear and I have the back panels off. I would like to fix it myself; however, I don't know where to start. I think a heating element or the thermostat could be out, but I do not know how to tell. HELP!!

Hi Chad
Randy gave you a good start for checking your dryer problem, the one thing I would like to know is: were you using the automatic cycle? If yes e-mail me for a couple more checks required.

Eric
: Chad,
: Sounds like your timer went defective then your
: thermostat burned open. You need to check
: that and your wiring for breaks and scoring.
: Remove the back service panel and the thermostat
: attched close to or on the element cover. It should click went shaken, if it doesn't it needs
: replacement.
: Also check your element for
: continuity and replace it if necessary.
: Don't forget to check your 220 breaker and make
: sure its not tripped.
: Good luck!
