: : Problem: In 1998 I drove across canada from R.L AB. to Antigonish N.S
: : and experinced transmission trouble. The trany finally gave out in Nova Scotia
: : so because not being from the area I thought I was being smart by having the local
: : ford dealership execute my repairs. 3 weeks later and $5000.00 later my
: : transmission was repaired, so I thought. Now when I drive the machine an accelerate
: : at a rate which should drop my transmission into passing gear instead it drops me
: : into nuetral. After taking the truck back several times to the original repair
: : shop the problem is still there. Is there anybody that has experinced this problem
: : before or can diagnos this.
: :

: Transmissions are not my specialty , But it sounds as if the linkage may not be properly adjusted . You might try one of the Ford Dealers in Halifax , sometimes smaller dealers like the one in Antigonish may not have the exp to repair the problem .

Also , If you are looking to repair this yourself , You can always post the problem at www.ford-trucks.com in the Transmission Section .
