My Daughter's 98 Accord Check engine light came on also, the Honda dealer ran the check for $31. and said code P0420 cat. deterioration. Said bill would be $1211. $821-converter $150-for each of 2 O2 sensors, $90 labor. WOW The car had 82,000 miles so they wouldn't warranty it. Took it to Mineke, said it would be about $150 total for converter and labor (no sensors). After pulling it off they said it wasn't even bad. The PVC valve was bad and the spark plugs were in need of changing. After I changed the plugs and PVC valve the light went out and hasn't come on since.
