Hi,
Honda Accord 98 has issues with the check engine light, it is not just a malfunction indicator. Nor is it a Solenoid issue or the Oxygen Sensor. Honda is giving this problems after 90K miles or so. Neither Honda knows how to fix this issue. They will give you various answers including transmission problems.
