: Hi,
: I have a 98 honda accord. The check engine light just came on yesterday. I checked the book
: and it said if you just recently filled up, which I did, check the gas cap. I believe that it wasn't clicked three times so I tightened, but the light is still on. Any other things that I can check. Could this just be a forced maintenance light?

: Thanks,
: Tom

Answer: I would diconnect the battery to clear any saved malfunction codes and restart and see what happens. If the battery disconnect fixes it for good great,if it is temporary,I would reccomend you get it looked into by someone with a scanner to check and see what the touble code indicates.
Hank
