Cavalier stalls hot

I have an intermittent stalling problem with my 91 Cavalier. Car runs fine except after about 30 minutes it will stall when I come to a stop. It immediately re-starts and idles fine, but stalls when put in gear. It must sit for at least 30 minutes before it will run in gear, and after a few miles stalling will occur again. I've cleaned throttle body and changed fuel filter, but problem still occurs. Check of car's computer showed no failure codes. Mechanic could not reproduce stalling but said problem could be with: electric fuel pump; fuel pump relay; or ignition coil or module. Could problem be one of these or a vacuum leak?
