Thiswas a design issue for Amana. It seems the drain hole was initially made too small, causing defrost water to back up and saturate the foam divider.
This causes frequent freeze-ups, and the solution is to have the divider block replaced. You cannot do this yourself, no disrespect intended. Call Amana for a servicer near you who can do this.

: Hi,

: It seems that I am getting leakage from the
: auto-defrost system. I cleaned the drainage hole
: several times but this correct the problem for
: about a week and it starts to leak again.

: My suspicion is that the drainage hole was not
: Cleaned properly. The main engine is sitting
: right above the drainage hole and makes it hard
: to clean or check if it is cleaned properly.

: Before attempting to pull the engine out, I need
: to make sure if this is necessary or not. If
: necessary, would you please advise how to do it?

: Thanks in advance for your help.
