How To Fix A Crack In Floor Of A Swimming Pool

I've noticed that my swimming pool is loosing its water, and have found a 6" crack in the shallow end of the pool floor. I think the cause is the roots of a near-bye ficus tree which I will remove. I'd like to know if this is a repair I can do myself, and what I need to do. Thanks.
