HI, I am making a concrete bench. We misunderstood the directions and made it 1 part portland cement and one part coarse gravel. It is set now, will it be okay?? Thanks.
: : I would like to know how to determine how much sand and gravel it takes to make a yard of concrete.
: :David
: The combined total of sand and gravel equals the
: amount of concrete the portland adds so little volume. Or if you want to make it complicated I will give you a list of weights. Reading from left to right aggregate size, cement, gravel, water,
: these are in pounds.
: 3/8 565 1630 1190 285
: 3/4 520 1310 1730 260
: 1 490 1260 1870 245
: One sack of cement equals 94 pound and Water weighs 8 pounds to the gallon.
