: The brick layers did a good job laying the brick on our new home until they started to wash the white accent brick with Sure Clean. The acid/base reaction left us with trim brick that has brown tobacco stains spotted along the front windows. I really don't want to make them tear out what has been done. I would rather find some way to touch up the errors without putting all of us through a tear-down/replace mess.
: The brick is covered with a soft white powdery substance. Of course the manufacturer says there's no way to fix the problem except buy more of his bricks and replace them.
: There must be something we can try. Ray

While sure klean is a good product and you may have had very good bricklayers anytime you have white or buff colored brick you take a chance of staining when acid washing. These types of stains may well be impossible to remove but before you give up hope try the International Masonry Institute. Phone 1-800-IMI-0988 or try there web site.
