It was working, then 10 minutes later when I tried again, it did not. I can hear the electric kicking in and trying to turn it on, but nothing. I have checked in it, by putting my hand down in it, there is nothing stuck. Any ideas anyone? Thank you so much.

Answer:
It sounds like the overload on the bottom of the disposer is your problem. Reach under the disposer, there you will find a "red" button. Push it in and try the electric switch again. If the overload keeps giving you problems, buy a new disposal, because its hard to get repair parts and its very expensive. Its cheaper to replace, but if you replace it make sure you get a 1/2 horse power unit.

I can start my displosal by turning on the switch and rotating the blade with a wood handle, (not recommended I know). Definitely the bearings?
