I was given a Craftsman 12 hp mower. It was not running. I have put in a new battery, new fuel filter, adjusted the needle valve, new air filter. It is getting fuel and spark but just doesn't seem to have enough power to turn the engine. I have tried hooking up a battery charger to help start it. Do you have any suggestions? Please help. Sounds like the problem is either the starter or the starter solenoid. Try boosting your starter or short a screwdriver across the solenoid. If neither of these help, it sounds like you might need starter work.
