I have a mobile home that is only 8 months old and noticed that when I turn the fireplace fan on nothing blows out. The switch is below the glass door and I can hear the fan going but no flow seems to occur. Isn't it suppose to blow heat into the room?
Answer:
the fan is suppose to help circulate the air but it's normally a low air flow, not like the furnace or A/C blower. The cold air is sucked in at the bottom and discharged out above the fireplace. Unless the fireplace is lit, you may not feel the air flow because what's coming out is the same temperature that's going in. Hold a piece of tissue at the outlet and see if it moves. If not, then there's something plugged up and you need to find it. Also make sure the bottom is open and clear of obstructions. That's the best I can do for you from here. Good luck and happy heating.
