you mean leave the old tile or vinyl floor and install the carpet on top of it, are you gluing it down? stretching it in, are you doing it yourself?
ok, gluing is a whole different ballgame,
stretching it in, ok to go ahead as is, but, use row cutters, seal trimmed edges, use power stretcher, proper seaming tape, seam over hard surface, not over pad
