: I recently installed a new parkay floor in my kitchen and dinning area. 1 week later we noticed the floor buckeling under the refrigerator. After moving the refrig we noticed grooves/dents from the inoperable refrig wheels. I have to replace a number of tiles due to a pesty water leak and was wondering if I could repair the grooved tiles or should I go ahead and plan on replacing them since they are adjacent to the damaged area? Chuck,
If you replace the flooring with new chances are that you will still get dents in the floor. The reason is that you are concertrating the weight of the fridge on a very small area (tip of the wheel). To prevent this from happening again you can use a scrap of luan or paneling about 1/8" thick under the wheels. Hope this helps.
