How to install a Basement toilet

I woiuld like to install a basement bathroom. The sewer line is about 4 feet above the concrete floor. I know there are various ways around this, such as to create a waste well in the floor and pump sewage out. I've also heard about the existence of "flush-up" toilets. I've also read where these are costly. So, what's the best method and why, and what kind of costs can I realistically expect? Many thanks!!!
