: I am trying to remodel my bathroom and I have a cast iron tub that I need to remove to redo the floor...I want to use the same tub, but I also do not want to destroy the walls around the tub to remove it....I would appreciate any tips on how to do this....thanks

Tonya, In this case you can't do one without the other. You will have to take off the sheet rock all around the tub at least a foot high and on the opposet end of the drain the rock will be off at least 3' high. You will find that with this project that you would be better off redoing the entire bath tub area as the sheet rock is probably rotted anyway. It is no easy task to pull a cast iron tub out, as i havs done many all by myself in years past. Good luck on your project. Dale's Plumbing Service Inc LMP
