: : I have an odor eminating from my bath tub drain and overflow. It only happens in summer when the temperature increases. The ordor is very sharp and smalls like sewer gas. In the past the ordor also came thru the shower drain in the connecting bathroom. Currently that is not happening.

: : I have rodded out the vent pipe previously and have placed a screen over the top to keep out pest.

: : The odor disappears in the fall.

: : Any suggestions???????
: : Thanks

: It sounds to me like you have a crack in a pipe, which is above the water line. This would let the smells out, but not the water (which makes it extremely difficult to find). The only other question is to ask if you use the A/C in the summer, and therefore have the home sealed up, which might give you the impression the smell is only during the summer months?

: Jerry

We use the AC only on hot days. The smell is still there when we do not use the AC and have the windows open.

Would the vent pipe have to be replaced or a pipe leading from the bathtub?

I appreciate your help in this.

Thanks
