Have a look at the Sani-Flow upflush/macerating toilets. My sewer line approx 3 feet above the basement floor and I installed this in one afternoon with no digging. Bought mine online at needplumbingsupplies.com ( see URL ).

But they are avail elsewhere & you can read some reviews online by searching on google

: : I woiuld like to install a basement bathroom. The sewer line is about 4 feet above the concrete floor. I know there are various ways around this, such as to create a waste well in the floor and pump sewage out. I've also heard about the existence of "flush-up" toilets. I've also read where these are costly. So, what's the best method and why, and what kind of costs can I realistically expect? Many thanks!!!

: Since only toilets are made flush-up (not sinks or showers) unless you only want a commode, you must install the sewar ejector system.

: Small ejectors run about $350, but need to have a 220v line run to them, add the cost of jackhammering up the floor, running the lines, re-concrete floor...

: Figure a base price of $1000 for the rough plumbing...
