I'm installing a new gas dryer and want to tee the gas line off the water heater gas source located about 6 feet away from where the new dryer will go (both are in the same room). To aviod moving the water heater, is it ok to run a 48" flex line around the back of the water heater, then connect to a 4' 1/2 OD black pipe which will run along the wall baseboard, than back to another 36" flex line to the dryer? there would be a gas valve located at the tee. Thank you for your response.
