: I want to start remodeling my garage into a family room. The floor is a solid slab of concrete. I would like to put carpeting down but not sure if I should put anything underneath the carpeting.

Constantine,
It is advisable (but not necessary) to put down
a subfloor prior to carpet. This is more important
if you live in a colder climate (ie insulated sub
floor).
Good luck!
