The rafters under my kitchen have sunk due to too much weight, (refrigerator, stove, entertainment center, etc.) What can I do?

Answer:
I would sister on more 2 by 8's. Jack a little at a time. Can be done in an hour or so. You may consider placing plywood strips in between the current 2 by 8's and the new ones you will install. Once this is done it should never sag again. Also, may consider a beam under the floor midway unless it takes up to much room in the basement.
