: : I live in a 12-year-old drivet-clad house (faux stucco). I want to replace my existing windows with vinyl-clad, insulated wood replacement windows (Pella). Will I mess up my drivet? Or, can I remove old windows from inside the house and install new windows from inside?

: You are most likely going to mess up at least a portion of the dryvit.

: Although replacement windows are designed to be installed inside older window frames by simply removing the sashes, newer windows do not usually accomodate this.

: The result is you likely have to pull the entire frame out, which includes the flanges behind the dryvit. Pulling the flanges may damage the dryvit.

: You will also need to thoroughly seal the new windows to the dryvit. One of the major complaints about the product has been the failure to adequately caulk around windows, leading to wood rot.
