My oil furnace ran out of oil and after it was refilled I was wondering how do I re-ignite the furnace? It is a tankless forced hot water oil furnace. Thanks in advance.
Probably on the left side of the burner unit is the fuel pump. That's the thing the fuel line leads to. On the side of the pump, maybe at 4 or 8 o'clock position there is a bleeder. It looks sort of like a grease fitting. It has a hex shoulder on it,like a nut or bolt. Might be 3/8" inch. Shut the furnace off, loosen the bleeder then tighten it loosely. Put a can or cup under the bleeder to catch the fuel oil. At the same time you start the start the burner, loosen the bleeder. It should spit fuel and air, then solid fuel. Tighten the bleeder, and the flame should catch. If not,do it again. Sometimes it takes a couple tries.
