Inquiring of replacing the crank on a casement window. Does the sill of the window come off and can it be replaced if breaks during removal ? Any secrets on removing the bottom of the sill to gain access to the broke crank?

Set screw on handle and remove the handle. Two screws hold down the mechanical cover.

Once cover is removed everything is exposed.

Best to remove window ( a must) while the unit is cranked out.

Then remove hardware to reverse process.
