My neighbor has a lot of pressure in his house with his cold water, but his hot water barely comes out. What could be causing this problem?
I'm going out on a limb here, I'm assuming your problem lies with all the hot water in the house and not just...the shower, for instance.
Because if it is just the shower it would be a different story, let me know if this is the case. If not, it is probably in the piping. I really would need more to analyze the situation. Is this a new problem or has it always been like that? Was there any plumbing done shortly before the problem started? Are there any valves that aren't turned on all the way? All of these factors could have a great bit of difference in what the actual problem could be.
If the problem is everywhere in the house, go to the hot water tank. Follow the cold pipe to where it intersects with another pipe. That is your start point. Follow the line all the way back to the tank. You're looking for valves. Every valve you come to, twist it closed and then open. Follow the hot pipe doing the same thing. You'll eventually find it.
