: Nails used to secure the ceiling drywall to the ceiling joists pop out, cracking the paint on my ceiling. This is happening around the outside ceiling perimeter. What is causing this and what can I do to prevent from it from continueing to happen?
: Thank you, Doug

Hi Doug,
Two reasons this is happening. 1. Possible house
settling. 2. Inferior nails or nailing job around
the edges of the drywall.
Solutions: 1. you can't do much about 2. You
could use drywall screws to support the nailed
areas. Tap the nails back in or remove them and
then screw in proximal to the nail. Touch up with
joint compound then paint. This should do the
trick. Good luck!
