I have a Sears Craftsman 4 year old garage door opener model 139.53636SRT. We had a storm today and the power went out. Now my door will not work. All I get is a clicking sound when I hit the bottom and nothing else. The two side lights do not work. I checked the plug and it is working. I am at a loss. The only life in this thing is the green light flashing on the side of the unit and that is it.
Answer:
I have had 3 openers ruined by lightening storms.
The last one I bought I pugged into a surge protector and wired the low voltage opener signal line from the pushbuttons through the phone line surge protection jack on it. So far.. so good.
As for fixing the one you lost... I replaced the circuit board on one.. but at almost the cost of a whole new one, the next time I just bought a new one.
