I recently removed old carpet to expose beautiful hardwood floors. However, the previous owners stapled the carpet padding into the hardwood flooring. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to remove these large staples without causing major damage to the floor? Once they are removed what would be the best way to disguise the holes without refinishing the floors?! Aside from these staples the floors are in like new condition!

Answer:
Pull up the staples with a pliers. The holes will not be visible after sanding. They will be filled with sawdust.
