Removing Vinyl Wallpaper Paste

How do I remove the vinyl wallpaper paste that is left on the wall after removing the wallpaper border? I used a scoring tool, and M1 and the border came off fairly easily. What is left on the wall is the vinyl wallpaper paste. It has been suggested that more M1 will get this off. It has also been suggested that a hair dryer will heat it up enough to get it off, so far no success. The wall is painted sheetrock, so a paint remover is not the way to go, I don't think. I need suggestions.

Answer:
It is water soluable so usually that is all it needs is some hot water scrubbing to get it off. I put a bit of fabric softener in the water mix to help break down the glue. Hope it works.
