Hanging bathroom mirror I have recently wallpapered my drywall bathroom and want to hang a 30" x 40" mirror. I purchased glue that is supposed to be "liquid nail". I am not confident that the wallpaper will support the heavy mirror using glue alone. However, if I use mirror brackets, they cause the mirror to set out from the wall just enough that the glue will not make contact with the wall. What to do? Brackets, glue, both? Help! The brackets, installed correctly, should be enough. I mounted our mirror that way 16 years ago. It is 36x48 and is held up by 4 of the mirror brackets. (2 on top 2on bottom). Just make sure you hit the studs in the wall and don't hit a water pipe!

I guess I am about 5 months too late for Kathy. Anyway, I have had two customers, just recently, who complained about their mirrors (hung only on brackets) banging on the wall when they clean them. I would highly recommend that you use mirror adhesive, as well as,brackets when hanging large mirrors. If you use the mirror adhesive in the caulking tubes, you can pile it on and bridge the gap between the wall and the mirror.

No Fog Mirror Heater

I saw a show where they installed a transformer and some wiring behind the bathroom mirror. None of the local stores have heard of anything like this. Anyone know about this product?

Mirror Removal

I need to remove a mirror glued to a drywall wall.... Probably with that black mastic... any idea how to remove the mirror from the wall without breaking it? The effect on the wall itself is no concern

Want you to know that we removed our floor to ceiling mirrors recently in our bathroom with carefully placed crowbar- mirrors came off with no difficulty- they were apparently were originally attached with that black mastic stuff. The adhesive was still on the drywall but no wall damage. Hope you have the same luck.

You may as well just cut out a section of drywall where the mirror is along with the mirror itself. Then replace w/ new drywall. The adhesive will no doubt remove a lot of the drywall anyhow...
