I am an engineer by training and have spent 17 years in the nuclear power industry. That means I never made my living doing some of the things I love best. But I have built several decks and designed a few more for friends. Built a couple garages, finished rooms and basements, built sheds, play houses and play equipment. I have also made a lot of the furniture in our house. And I suppose since I never had to put bread on the table with that work, it has kept it fun.

Recently I bought an old farm house. It has kept me plenty busy, but it is doing things I enjoy. And this site which I have built myself, which is fun in whole new ways, both the creating of a site and the chance to help others do things I wish I could be doing right with them. More than once in answering questions I thought.. "If only I could give you hand right there...."

I have a wonderful wife (been married 18 years) who still hasn't gotten everything made that she has asked for, and three wonderful kids. (one of them is using some of my web space to build a site of her own.)
